Dear Nina,
I am in my 30s and childless due to MFI (Male Factor Infertility). I got married to my husband while I was still at university. There is a 21 year age gap between us .The marriage was a struggle at first because my family wasn’t so keen on us getting together, mainly due to the age gap. They came round eventually and when they made an effort to get to know him, told me how lucky I was to have met him. Just 6 months after getting married, we started being put under pressure to conceive. After trying IVF 4 times in 6 years, we decided to stop. Emotional torture is how I will describe what we went through. As it currently stands, I have lost interest in having children now that I am involved with the running of my husband’s business. Anyway, that’s not the reason why I am contacting you.

I am reaching out to you because I am building a lifestyle blog, which has a column just to empower women. It will contain motivational speeches and articles from women around the world. These women will be known for something they stand for, like girls getting education, from rags to riches, female entrepreneurs who start from home, living childless and breaking the stereotype that couples must have children and that it’s always women that are infertile etc etc.

So I would like an article from you to be part of my empowerment project. I just want you to share your wise words. A little motivation for all the childless women in the world and how you have broken the social stigma that couples must have children. I can’t think of anyone better when it comes to empowering women who are childless and how your website is supporting thousands of women around the world. You are an incredible lady that has inspired many people including me. From being shy because we are not mothers, your words and motivation have made women like me to tell people boldly that we don’t need children, and that we are happy the way things are. I thank you for that.
