I think that there are a number of reasons for this, and women prioritising their careers is just one of them. Another important thing to remember is that the economy is not great at the moment, and more people are making the choice not to have children because of the simple fact that they wouldn’t be able to afford to give them the life that they would like to. People should ensure that they’re not simply letting themselves run out of time, though, as this can be incredibly heartbreaking in the end.

  2. Have you seen the state of the economy at the moment? It’s not surprising that people aren’t having children, because the money just isn’t there to have the same type of life that a lot of people would have been able to have in the past. That is quite sad because I feel that everybody who wants a child should be able to have one, but in this world they may not be able to.

Someone I know has five children even though she has never had a job and has no intention of getting one. She even boasts that, because her first two were a girl and a boy, she then hardly had to spend any money on the other three because she already had everything that she needed. So therefore, it’s brilliantly refreshing to hear that there are people who choose not to have children when it isn’t practical. Sometimes it is a lot kinder to make a hard decision.
