Hi All,

I was just wondering whether anybody here had been offered any medication to help with the various mental issues revolving around childlessness.

I was offered antidepressants but chose not to take them, however in hindsight I wish I did, because it might have improved my journey a little.

Do you think there's anything wrong with accepting such help? Having had time to think, I would take them next time - but I turned them down because I felt I was weaker if I took them.

I suppose you can say that there is a certain stigma attached to antidepressants and I can understand your reluctance. Having said that I will encourage anyone who believe that they are in such a bad place in their life that it might help them to talk to their GP about it. We haven't needed them when we were struggling to conceive, nor when we realised that we were not going to have children after all. Once again, I encourage anyone who is finding it difficult to come to terms with not having children, to seek professional help.
